Look: LTO opens state-of-the-art Road Safety hub

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Office (LTO) have launched the new Road Safety Interactive Center (RSIC), a facility to educate children and the public about the history of the LTO, road safety, and interactive machines.

The RSIC, which is a state-of-the-art hub inside the LTO head office in Quezon City, was recently inaugurated by the DOTr and LTO. Inside the hub are driving simulators which the public can use to get a grasp of what it is like to drive a car, or even ride a motorcycle.

There are also trivia games about road signs and road safety in general where the public can participate.

All in all, there are 10 stations inside the hub that talk about different topics, such as LTO’s rich history, road safety, driving simulators, and the 4-D mini-theater.

Additional Road Safety Interactive Centers on the way

LTO added that the new Road Safety Interactive Center will not be limited at their main office, but will also be put up at selected regional offices to bring this program closer to the public.

In a way, the LTO is proactive in spreading the importance of road safety to the youth, not waiting for an actual law to be passed requiring basic road safety to be included in the school’s curriculum.
